A Young Woman Void of Understanding
From a distance, I saw a young woman void of the man’s intent.
Flattering her, he spoke of her intelligence and beauty.
In the black night, at a social gathering, there he met her.
The man was full of deceit. He wore success. He had self-confidence.
The man smoothly flattered her. At the right moment, he boldly kissed her cheek.
Brazenly, he said, “I am free.”
He then said, “I have diligently sought for the woman of my dreams.” Looking into her eyes, he continued, “I have found her. I have decked my house with wealth; carved works and fine linens of Egypt.”
She came on the appointed day. As an ewe lamb led to a sacrifice, she went straightway after him. She heard his pleasing speech and felt his sensual embrace.
He kissed her on the chin and said, “I have perfumed my bed with cinnamon, aloes, and mirth. Come let us make love till morning. Let us comfort ourselves with loves.”
He forced her!
As a bird hastily flew into the snare and knew not that it was for her life and, as a dart struck through her liver, the violation of her pure body tore her soul.
Women hear wisdom. She is your sister. She cries out to you. Attend to her warning.
Allow not your heart to decline to a man’s paths; go not astray into his deceitful ways.
For the young woman was cast down along with many wounded women; yea, many strong women have been slain by the man’s sensual deception. His house was an emotional hell, going down to the chambers of death. (Proverbs 7:6 – 27).
For him, sex was only an act.
Author’s Note: Changing the victim, I adapted Proverbs 7 to demonstrate how a woman may feel being deceived into a sexual experience.
