Are you serious about wanting a fresh start and addiction free life?
Lots of addicts know what to do, but very few addicts actually do what they know (Robbins, 1991, p. 25).
Knowledge is not enough!
For example, almost everyone has made New Year’s resolutions that they did not keep. Perhaps, these people all had the wrong strategies to change.
Change must have value, or change will have short-term results.
Step #1; Change Your Action-Plan
The best piece of advice that I can give you is to find a role-model. Look for a person who has recovered from a sexual addiction.
One way to find a role-model, you attend some group meetings specializing in sexual addictions. Judge for yourself whether or not a particular meeting helps you. Remember, you are going to find help and a mentor–a sponsor who helps people during their recovery.
When you find the person, you simply pay attention to everything she says or he does. All you do is adapt to high energy behaviors. A great place to meet with a mentor is right after a group meeting.

The mentor is a coach. You work out a strategy and discuss it with the sponsor (e.g. coach, mentor…). Then you immediately implement one step at a time. Continuously focusing on one thing at a time gives the best results.

When I first heard about Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA), I did not follow up on it. My addiction was continuously stopping and starting up again and plagued me for many years.
I attempted suicide. I suffered severe consequences. With instruction from a therapist, I attended a SAA meeting.
The dynamics of the meeting was like a current of energy drawing me to sobriety, one day at a time.
