- What would you like to learn?
- What legacy do you want to leave?”
Now, imagine having what you just wrote. Your subconscious can’t tell real from future events. Again, imagine having what you wrote till you feel the joy.
Now, think about the last time you masturbated. Did you have your legacy in mind; how about afterwards?
No, you probably didn’t. Stop and think: What types of emotions did you have, 7 days after you masturbated? How did you feel?
Personal Story
I remember I was on a pornography marathon. Then, all of a sudden, it hit me.
I felt nothing. I didn’t feel any discomfort doing it.
Matter of fact, I pretty much felt it was okay.
Then, I thought about the week of viewing porn. I felt no emotions against it.
Actually, I was feeling good. I sort of felt happy, thinking: I deserve to enjoy these sexual feelings.
However, I didn’t feel joy. I felt empty. I then realized I was in trouble.
I said, “O God!”
Was my conscience deadened?
Yes. It was.
I sought God for weeks to get my feelings back.
It took a long time. It was scary.
Does masturbation kill the spirit?
Yes.
For me, masturbation always leads me to pornography.

How to Stop Pornography Addiction 
Dale, I love this straightforward exploration. I agree, masturbation totally kills the spirit. And for the pornography addict it will always lead back to pornography. There is no middle ground. I know a lot of well intentioned thinkers will tell their clients, listeners, disciples that if you can’t stop looking at porn just try masturbation by itself. And although I agree with their intentions because it is definitely better to masturbate than kill oneself with anxiety and frustration I do think that in the long run total abstinence from masturbation has to be the goal.

For me, I know masturbation ignites the desire for more porn.
